Friday Night Only! Pearl – The Janis Joplin Story

Gather your friends for a great night of entertainment at the Burdekin Theatre Starlight Foyer as Burdekin Shire Council Presents ‘Pearl’ – The Janis Joplin Story this Friday night 3rd March, 2017.

On 4th October 1970 Janis Joplin was found dead from a heroin overdose and in spite of her inevitable self-destruction, Janis was headed for greater musical success with her critically acclaimed album ‘Pearl’.

Pearl – The Janis Joplin Show is a jazz, blues, bohemian rock musical presentation, celebrating a woman who exploded onto the music scene and quickly became the queen of rock ‘n’ roll and mother of thrift shop vintage funk.  Joplin continually left audiences speechless with unforgettable hits like “Cry Baby” and “Me and Bobby McGee.”, “ Move Over” and many more.

Paying homage to the legacy of a captivating woman who stunned fans with her extraordinary performances and simultaneously shattered stereotypes, leaving a life-long impression in the rock ‘n’ roll world.

A life story interwoven amongst 20 hit songs that shaped an era where love was fearless and rules were broken.

Patrons are welcome to BYO nibbles. Doors and the bar will be open from 7am for an 8pm performance you don’t want to miss!

Please note, no drinks – alcoholic or non-alcoholic – are to be brought into the venue.

Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult at the parents discretion.

Tickets range from $27 – $33 per person and can be purchased from the Burdekin Theatre Website or by calling 4783 9800 or in person at the Burdekin Shire Council.  Tickets can also be purchased from the Theatre Box Office 1hr prior to the commencement of the show.
