Presenter: Burdekin Cultural Complex Board Inc.
When: Tuesday 17th August 2010 - 8pm
Description: Known worldwide as ‘Queen Bea’ from the iconic Australian television series Prisoner, Val Lehman is back treading the boards and is on her way to the Burdekin Theatre.
Val stars in Steaming, the funny, award winning comedy by English playwright Nell Dunn. Steaming is a celebration of women, by women, for all of us. In it’s time this play was considered controversial because of the nudity and language. But, it’s more than that - it’s about friendship, finding your place in the world and fighting for what you believe in. Set in an old Turkish Bath somewhere in the East End of London where six women of all conditions come to bare their bodies, souls and fantasies, Steaming is a warm-hearted, often humorous portrayal of women coming to know the nature of each other’s lives.
