Buddy the Concert features some of the greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll classics ever recorded, performed live on stage....
Buddy Holly

featured

Buddy Holly was one of the greatest pioneers of Rock and Roll in the 1950's. His career spanning only two short years before the day the music died, he still managed to leave behind one of the biggest musical legacies with a wealth of material that had a lasting impact on popular music. Over 20 top 40 hits prior to his tragic death in a plane crash that was immortalized in the song “American Pie”, A legacy that to this day has never been beaten and inspired artists like The Beatles, The Stones, Bob Dylan, Queen & Elton John.

Buddy the Concert features some of the greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll classics ever recorded, performed live on stage along with all the holly hits including “Peggy Sue”, “That’ll Be The Day”, “Rave On”, “Oh Boy”, “It’s So Easy” and more, It’s a show that has had outstanding reviews everywhere its toured, full of energy and vitality, the show has some brilliant re-imaginings of some classics, like the extended blues guitar solo version of Well All Right by Cameron, along with blindingly accurate and faithful recreations of the hits, as you remember hearing them.

Donning Holly’s trademark horn-rimmed glasses, his ever so engaging and charismatic figure and a lilting vocal hiccup is Scott Cameron as he returns to the role that made him famous. Scott "Buddy" Cameron - as he became known – was a childhood guitar prodigy in Australia sharing stages with Tommy & Phil Emmanuel, Slim Dusty, Jade Hurley, Glen Shorrock, Ross Wilson, Keith Urban, Doug Parkinson & Brian Cadd. In 2004 however he found his calling answering an audition call for the Buddy Holly Story musical. His uncanny look, eerily similar voice and guitar prowess, transformed Scott to become the single most recognised Buddy Holly performer in the world! Receiving the support of Buddy Holly's family and friends including The Peggy Sue, Holly’s Widow Maria Elena and Bob Montgomery (who wrote with Buddy and penned the song Heartbeat). Scott had a remarkable run of rave reviews for his portrayal of Holly in the lead role of the International musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story in productions staged from 2005 through to 2009. The musical took Scott all over the world including London’s West End.

Bloom Sings

featured

Stevie Nicks, Carole King and Linda Ronstadt are arguably three of the world’s most recognizable voices.  With combined record sales topping in excess of over 300 million units sold as well as an endless wealth of top 20 hits between them, they truly are three of the world’s greatest. In this brand new show, Melbourne singer/songwriter, Bloom, will have you experience the incredible hits that span several decades from the Grammy Award winning artists.

Stevie Nicks is best known as the vocalist and songwriter for Fleetwood Mac but is also a chart-topper in her own right. Collectively, her work both as a member of Fleetwood Mac and as a soloist has produced over forty top 50 hits and sold over 140 million records. She is celebrated as one of the world’s top “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Hailing as one of the 20th century’s most successful female songwriters and having penned over 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100, Carole King is also a New York Times best-seller for her memoir ‘A Natural Women’ and has also had the story of her life played out on Broadway for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.  She has been inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall Of Fame and recipient of a Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song – the first woman to be honoured.

Linda Ronstadt is a name familiar with many and one that spans numerous genres. She is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time whose voice and naive sex appeal have sold her in excess of 100 million records globally.  She has released over 30 studio albums, is the winner of 11 Grammys, three American Music Awards and one Emmy Award.

And then there’s Bloom, a singer in her prime belting out the songs of these three wonderful Women.  Bloom is highly applauded as one of Australia’s greatest power vocalists in her own right and has already garnered International acclaim for her effortless soulful vocal resonance of power vocalists Adele and Amy Winehouse with her Adele & Amy Songbook tour and more recently a national tour performing the hits of one of her idols in the Linda Ronstadt Songbook.

Come and be charmed by the Australian vocal powerhouse that is Bloom and celebrate all that is Stevie Nicks, Carole King and Linda Ronstadt.

Lost Legends Showcase is unique, a rockumentary presented by Australian music royalty - former members of AC/DC and Masters Apprentices - with live music and footage that cannot be seen anywhere else....
Lost Legends Picture

featured

When three former Masters Apprentices band members attended the funeral of the group’s legendary lead singer, Jim Keays, their grief and respect, expressed through combined tales and fond reminiscences, resulted in a new concept. The inspired result – now called ‘Lost Legends Showcase’ – is an utterly unique offering. It stems from the fact that, as the band members reflected on how Jim’s life should be celebrated, they realized he was one of many great Aussie singers (now deceased) they had been friends of, or played with over the years. These veteran musos, between them, had a collection of very personal and completely fresh stories to tell about a host of iconic lead vocalists. For example, Colin was Bon Scott’s room-mate on tour when he was the drummer for AC/DC...that alone makes the mind boggle, and whets the appetite for some tasty stories!

So after the wake, the work began. Roger’s (very much alive) wife, Vanessa Lea, who is an exceptional singer with a career of her own, was recruited to complete a great band, affectionately known as Dead Singer Band. Stories and footage were painstakingly collected and collated, incorporating memories from family members and industry pros like Glenn A Baker. What emerged is a fantastic one-of-a-kind production that includes an AV show and personal recollections, as well as over 2 and a half hours of cracking live music, delivered across 2 sets.

With authentic renditions of their music, the band is proud to honour the legacy of a prime selection of Australia’s singing icons. Fans of Billy Thorpe, Ray Brown, Shirley Strachan, Ted Mulry, Darryl Cotton, Maurice and Robin Gibb, Bon Scott, Doc Neeson, Chrissy Amphlett, Michael Hutchence, Stevie Wright, Jon English and more, will love the visual and aural montage that ‘Lost Legends Showcase’ delivers. The show pays fitting homage to the lives and times of the band members’ mates and colleagues, with a truth that can only come from genuine experience. They toured, worked and partied with every artist featured, and in at least one case, were the very last people to have seen them alive. The close-up and personal recollections are what makes this tribute different. The packaging is the icing on the cake – from the accompanying audio visual show, personal memories, light-hearted comedy, fun costuming, special guests, celebrity interviews, great music and sensitivity to the era of each artist.

Audiences come away with fresh insights and appreciation of the stars that they loved through the years, when their heroes were breaking down barriers and crafting unique sounds that are now recognised as our very own Australian music. It is the dream of Dead Singer Band, that the love and respect that the group’s members have for this country’s best singers, will be reflected by audience members, remembered afresh as they hear the hits played, and our wonderful musical history will be upheld and passed on to new ears, regardless of the fact that the original stars are not longer here to speak (or sing) for themselves.
